Rami, Hikaru and the Boys

Rami, Hikaru and the Boys

Have you ever watched a small child learn to walk? They are relentless as they get up and fall back down. Repeating this over and over again, until one day everything falls into place and they rise to the occasion. I am reminded of this as I photograph Rami, Hikaru and their friends skating around the streets of Sydney. They will each try a trick hundreds of times until they get it and then move on to master something slightly harder. They don’t judge each other and celebrate each others success with a friendly fist bump and mutual respect. I am always inspired after having had the privilege to spend time with these talented humans. They are not afraid to give something a go, learn from it and do it better next time.

"Sometimes we get lost. We choose the path of least resistance and do what is easy as opposed to what is right. Sometimes we choose the wrong guides, or listen to the wrong people. And sometimes we seek the rewards before we do the work. But success is not a goal, it's a by-product. Focus on the work, seek good advice, and get the help you need to get back on track."
