Rami

We crave connections with people, to listen to their stories and have ours be heard. As I reflect on some of the most enjoyable moments in my life, sitting in the sun nattering away with a close friend or family member would be close to the top of the list. Minutes turn into hours and before you know it the sun has set on another day and you feel completely alive.

As time has passed on I have found that I get caught up in achieving the perceived expectations I put on myself and I let these connections go. I have found that photography has been such a gift in changing that. To create a picture that captures more than what you are physically seeing means finding out that the skater is getting a degree in commerce, the local barista is visiting Japan in 10 days, the investment banker writes a weekly blog and the glacier you are meters away from took thousands of years to create. Without the courage to walk across the road and take photos of complete strangers skating, I would never have met Rami (featured in this blog). Who are we yet to meet, who is yet to inspire us and who is yet to hear our stories and say me too.

Here are the vibes for this weeks post. Press play and scroll away.
